Handwritten

A few weeks ago on a post entitled Nice to Meet You, I mentioned that I really wanted a Pen Pal. Well, so fortunately for me, a few people emailed me saying they also wanted one. We exchanged addresses and now, I have pen pals! I am so happy those girls decided to email me because I am absolutely loving writing and receiving letters. It is so exciting to receive a hand written letter in the mail. That just doesn't happen enough anymore. Anyone can email or text, but it makes you feel so good to know someone has taken the time to write an actual letter for you. I am really enjoying getting to know these new friends in a more unique way than over the internet. I am even exchanging letters with someone all the way from Germany, which is so cool! Plus it is so much fun shopping for pretty stationary and things to make your letters more fun and decorated. If you've ever considered having pen pals, I highly recommend it. I can't wait to hear from all of my new friends and am hoping I can find even more!

Eating: Lots of frozen yogurt! A new place just opened up about three minutes from our house, so of course we're spending lots of time and money there! Sometimes you just can't beat good old frozen yogurt! Especially because it's so versatile. You can go chocolatey, fruity, plain, or lots of gummies. Or all of the above ;)

Watching: Girls. I just started watching season two and am in LOVE. So many people told me to watch it and as usual I said I would but never did. Too many times someone tells me about an "amazing" show that I end up being bored with. But I finally decided to give this one a go, and I'm very glad I did!  It really is like a younger Sex and the City. Which is awesome because I love that show too. It's hilarious and just really entertaining. Plus I have a huge girl crush on Lena Dunham! The only bummer is that it's only a half hour long and ten episodes per season.

Loving: My new camera. It's a Canon SL-1. Up until now I've only used Nikon for DSLRs, but after playing around with my friend's camera, I absolutely had to have one for myself. I've been playing with it pretty non stop. I really want to know how to use it 100% so I can make sure I'm getting the most out of it. I'm trying to get myself out of my iPhone photo habit. It's just so easy to grab my phone and snap a quick photo. But another good thing about the Canon is that it's pretty compact, so I'm going to try to start using it all the time.

Listening to: Everything on vinyl. My mom bought me a Crosley for Christmas last year and I'm pretty obsessed. It really does make music sound better. I love buying new music on vinyl, and also thrift shopping and finding really old ones. Usually based off of the cover art, ha! My grandma gave me a couple of her old Elvis Presley albums too, which I absolutely adore.

Thinking about: Mine and Joe's two year anniversary next month. It's so crazy to think that two whole years ago this guy asked me to be his girlfriend. I can still so clearly remember the insane butterflies going on in my stomach. That amazing feeling when someone you really like likes you back. These past two years went by so fast, yet I feel like I've been with Joe for so much longer. For how much has happened in only two years, it makes me so excited to experience many more years with him!

Under the Bridge

Friday, August 23, 2013

One of my absolute favorite things to do is grab the cameras (DSLR and film) and go find cool looking places to take photos. Not only do the photos usually turn out pretty cool, but Joe and I always have such a fun time goofing around and just spending time together. A few days ago we went to this old bridge in our town so he could mess around with his 1970's Vivitar he just got. It was a lot of fun, like usual! Also, I was featured on Tastes Like Love today, go check it out :)

Tea and Birthdays

Monday, August 19, 2013

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a fun and restful weekend! Today is Joe's first day back to school. He's doing more classes online now so he can work too. I'm so proud of him! I love seeing him do what he loves and succeed at it. I really can't wait to see all his hard work pay off when he is able to achieve his dream job of being a graphic designer.

Not much is going on for me this week, just the usual. My weekend was nice though. Saturday, my good friend Katie drove up from Tucson to hang out. We sat and had tea and cupcakes and talked and caught up. It's always nice being able to spend time with old friends you grew up with and went through so much together. She brought with her her new Canon camera and I fell in love with it and HAD to get one for myself (thanks a lot, Katie! ;) But I plan to sell a couple of mine that I don't use anymore, so I'll feel better about spending that much money so impulsively. We had a great day though and I really hope to spend more time with her!

Then Sunday was my dad's birthday, so Joe and I headed out to his house to spend the evening having dinner and hanging out with family. I tried Saki for the first time (yuck) and we all sang terribly to karaoke. So it was a pretty fun night. Happy "29th" Birthday, Dad ;)

Here are a few photos from my weekend.

Have a wonderful week, everyone!
